Task

As Unionhilfswerk’s brand ecosystem continued to grow, the existing guidelines required a more comprehensive and flexible framework to support consistent communication across teams, channels, and sub-brands. This project focused on expanding and refining the strategic brand handbook, bringing corporate and employer branding together within a single system while establishing clear standards for future applications. Through the development of design principles, application guidelines, and reusable templates, the handbook became a practical tool for maintaining a cohesive and recognizable brand presence across both print and digital media.

A Framework for Future Communication

Transforming an existing brand handbook into a comprehensive framework for future communication and growth.

Unionhilfswerk’s evolving brand landscape required a more comprehensive and practical framework that could support both the corporate brand and employer brand across a wide range of communication channels. The project focused on expanding and consolidating the existing brand guidelines into a unified strategic handbook that would provide clarity, consistency, and flexibility for future applications.

Working within the established brand identity, I was responsible for the visual development and design of the updated handbook, translating strategic brand principles into clear, actionable design standards. This included defining the use of key brand elements such as logos, typography, color systems, layouts, visual hierarchy, and key visual applications across both print and digital media.

In addition to the guideline development, I created a series of master templates and application examples to support consistent brand implementation. These included layouts for brochures, flyers, posters, postcards, banners, and social media assets, as well as recommendations for imagery, illustration styles, and the use of supporting visual elements. By establishing a flexible design system and a comprehensive set of reusable templates, the handbook enabled teams and stakeholders to create future communications efficiently while maintaining a cohesive and recognizable brand presence across all touchpoints.
