TASK

I have been a Seabird Volunteer from 3rd of December 2019 – 9th of January 2020 at SANCCOB’s Bird Rehabilitation Center in Cape Town South Africa. I mastered the basic skills required to rehabilitate ill, injured and abandoned seabirds and have assisted in daily tasks of saving seabirds, including endangered species like the African penguin.

During this time period, i am observed, assisted and learnt the following skills:

• Tubing, feeding and administrating prescribed vitamins, antibiotics and anti-malaria medications to a variety of seabirds of all ages.
• Applied the correct handling techniques at all times
• Assisted with daily task in the bird pens
• Participated in the release of rehabilitated African penguins
