As the founder of Rollbuch i am regulary invited to schools and libraries for kids workshops. My intention is to integrate the importance of ocean protection. For this workshop i invited Ocean. Now! and founder Meike Schützek, to team up with Rollbuch and me. She gave a little introduction speech to the kids explaining the relevance of our oceans and species living in it, the problems we are currently facing and how we can take little bit of actions ourselves.
The concept for the workshop was to create a 10 meter long paper roll with the coastline and of course the ocean, expressing the real life scenario. Every child illustrated a part of the paper roll and coastline/ocean part, therefore the whole class has in the end created their very own ocean story that they were able to take back to school as a class result. I personally believe that art is a really good way to communicate with kids onto heavy and complex topics, such as climate pollution.
